Welcome! My name is Esra, the artist behind Sola's Place.
Inspired by nature - I enjoy creating dreamy looking portraits, landscapes and still-lifes.
At some point I named my profile page on social media "Sola's Place". That's all to it. Nothing spectacular.
I want to express myself through working with pencil and paper, through paint on canvas, etc..
Art, that is made slowly, with thoughtful steps in traditional media in this speedy, digital time and age.
Showing mostly fine drawings on my website, while working on presenting paintings, which will be shared here soon and on social media platforms.
SEEKING TO BRING PEOPLE CLOSER THROUGH ART.
A lot of things can only be expressed in visual language. I'm looking for ways to reach people with my art, no matter where they are.

My approach in drawing
I try to convey the essence of my subject with a certain dreamy, atmospheric look. This wasn't something that I had planned but developed over years, by just drawing a lot.
There are many things to explore in working that way, which makes me wanting to pick up a pencil and draw.
The technical side and paper
I'm interested in paper and test out continuously different kinds to expand my knowledge about this fascinating material.
I use different techniques depending on the paper surface, which also depends on what I'm looking for in my drawing.
